In the days of difficult trials that Belarus is going through today, it would be logical to seek inspiration and emotional support from the source of the right-wing Belarusian metal scene, which counts a lot of first-class bands with quality and original sound, one of which is Wehrwolf, a band that has been pleasing fans with their releases for at least 13 years.

“Revival of Europe” is the only full-length album of the Belarusian band and at the same time their central work at the moment. On this album they have perfected their inherent sound in the form of black metal in Absurd style with tangible influence of metalcore. The 8 tracks, hard and scathing, like well-placed blows, concentrate a colossal internal energy, unstoppable tearing out:

Shakes the dark clouds with the furious voice of the crowd
The spirit of nature freezes in anticipation of the thunderstorm.
The winds of stormy winds harden the blood in the heart.
Thoughts of death and thirst for battle are reflected in the eyes.
(“Tradition of Loyalty”)

The album starts with melancholy electric guitar sounds under the wind noise and other disturbing sounds, gradually dragging into the vortex of the first dramatic and menacing composition “Army of the Black Sun”, the longest and one of the most important on the album, with the atmosphere of a visceral street battle, conveyed by the depressing heavy music and tearing hardcore vocals:

A brutal march reviving the forgotten tradition of the source
On the scorched earth the youth of Wotan stamp their step with fire.
united under the banners of Blood of Race and Soil.
Their souls aim at the Rebirth of Europe!

Then, one after another, there are equally fierce and uncompromising tracks, among which it is worth highlighting, for example, “Europe. IV Reich”, a conceptual composition that opens with a quote from the first pages of Julius Evola’s book ‘Imperialismo Pagano’: ”We must wake up again to a renewed, spiritualized, tart experience of the world, but not an abstract and philosophical one, but one that vibrates in our blood: to experience the world as power, to experience the world as a ritual of sacrifice. Such an experience of the world will create a strong, violent, active form, a being of pure power; such an experience of the world will reveal that sense of freedom and greatness, that cosmic breath, even the faintest whiff of which the ‘dead’ of Europe have not yet known…”

“Tradition of Loyalty” is a cover of one of the best songs in Absurd’s discography “In die Schlacht” (“Into battle”): the cover version does not lose its special look and adds new colors to this beautiful composition. This is followed by the relaxing meditative track “Rebirth”, a temporary respite on the warfields of this album, which, however, is also uplifting and ennobling to the spirit. The sixth composition “Standard of Will”, something similar to many Velimor compositions – concentrated power and healthy aggression, militancy, vivid poetic images that literally come to life before your eyes:

Only the tears that flow in scarlet rivers
Will outline the path of freedom prepared by fate!

The seventh track “Pointed to the Sun” is made with the influence of oi!/black metal music, capturing with its flow and carrying away, the music is active and dynamic, high-tempo, high-speed, a real cannon, under the volleys of which you can’t stand on your feet. The last, eighth track of this album “Go Vegan” is just as driving and dynamic, but it is full of philosophical content, as it calls to think about the dead end of the consumer society, which has become a real leprosy for the environment. And indeed, if a fighter and warrior, as well as an ordinary person do not have high morals, they quickly slip down to the level of “mlecchas” – demons, destroying everything around them and leaving only desert.

Today musicians of Wehrwolf band with renewed sound and under the name WHRWLF are working on recording a new album, which, in all probability, will be even stronger and deeper than all their previous creations. It is worth to wish good luck to the creators of Wehrwolf and all Belarusian race-thinking musicians in their work and to wish this European country and its proud freedom-loving people to grow up. For the circle of Youth of High values of the Struggle and archaic archetypes of the Indo-European world have always stood above momentary political motives, and therefore in the name of today’s battles and the birth of New Vikings we send greetings to our comrades: Zhyve Belarus!
